All new employees on commencement of employment will receive induction training to ensure they are aware of all general health, safety, welfare, environmental and quality issues affecting their work practices.
Management will identify the underpinning knowledge; skill and competence required for all jobs under their control and will provide particular training where identified to satisfy these needs. All training will be evaluated to ensure the training needs are identified and satisfied.
Following the annual ‘Strategic Planning Meeting’ and the setting of business objectives for the coming year, all managers will review the jobs under their control to identify any additional training required to meet new or revised objectives. A training plan will be established and addressed in the annual appraisal of employees.
All employees will receive an annual appraisal by their line manager during which any additional training or skill development for the coming year will be agreed.
All employees will be encouraged to develop their working careers by taking training courses either identified by management or themselves. |
